Mythologia's Story

 

Cat Black is the perfumer at Mythologia. Tales of Marie Antoinette's precious perfume collection inspired scented, dove filled, galleon topped 18th Century style wigs for a final degree show at Art School, and led organically to learning about perfume.

Following a move to London to work in a fashion magazine, many years were spent exhibiting as a visual artist and teaching, as well as creating bespoke perfumes for those close. The decision was made in 2022 for Cat to focus solely on her long-time olfactory passion, and the journey to launching Mythologia from a tiny atelier in Shoreditch London in 2024 began...
Music plays an enormous part in the inspiration and development of each perfume. The soundtrack in the Mythologia atelier is constant, beautiful and eclectic; from opera to trip hop and everything in between. Creating perfume is a passion. Translating it into artwork and playlists is instinctive. Great pride is taken in distilling  Mythologia's dark, romantic and unconventional ideas into each bottle.
